SUMMARY:French Volunteering Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:France Volontaires is the French platform for International Exchange and Solidarity Volunteering (VIES). Created in 2009 and transformed into a Public Interest Group (GIP) in 2023\, it brings together the State\, local authorities\, and associations in a common effort to promote international voluntary engagement. \nAs an operator of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs\, France Volontaires supports the development and recognition of different forms of volunteering\, guided by principles of cooperation\, solidarity\, and reciprocity. FV serves the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by supporting projects in diverse fields: education\, health\, culture\, Francophonie\, sports\, environment. \nThe French Volunteering Day (JVF) is one of France Volontaires’ key annual events. Organized each October in all the Volunteering Centres around the world. It highlights volunteer engagement and creates a space for exchange among international volunteering stakeholders: institutions\, associations\, sending and hosting organizations\, volunteers\, project leaders and the general public. \nJVF 2025 will place environmental challenges at the heart of reflection and action. \nFor this edition\, France Volontaires has chosen a theme aligned with global developments and its long-term commitments: \n“The contribution of international exchange and solidarity volunteering to environmental challenges.” \nFaced with ecological urgency\, volunteering positions itself as a concrete and civic means to address environmental issues\, notably in the fight against climate change\, biodiversity protection\, natural resource management\, and community awareness. This theme aligns with the UN 2030 Agenda and the SDGs\, particularly those on climate action (SDG 13)\, water (SDG 6)\, life on land (SDG 15)\, and sustainable cities (SDG 11). \nIt also reflects France Volontaires’ commitment to ecological transition\, through dedicated working groups\, production of practical resources for organizations\, and the rollout of programs such as V-Forests\, V-Amazonia\, or Volunteers for the Great Green Wall. \nPlace under the theme : Volunteering and environment: small actions for the planet\, concrete steps for the future\, JVF Ghana 2025 edition aims to: \nShowcase volunteering missions with direct or indirect environmental impact \nAmplify the voices of volunteers engaged in ecological transition \nBuild bridges between stakeholders in volunteering\, environment\, youth\, and cooperation \nFoster collective reflection on how voluntary engagement supports necessary transformations locally and globally. \nFeel free to contact ev.ghana@france-volontaires.org or 0572828294 for further information. \n  \nDate: Wednesday 22nd September 2025 \nTime: 8am \nVenue: Seminar Room
