Blinkards – Theatre
This laugh out loud comedy hits home from the opening scene, following the larger than life Mrs Brofusem and her circle of acquaintances as they create a sequence of madhouse mishaps! Witty, wonderful and weirdly accurate, The Blinkards satirises the acceptance by a colonised society of the attitudes of the coloniser. The Blinkards, or the Anglo-Fanti is a satire written by Kobina Sekyi in 1915. It is one of the earliest surviving plays in the Gold Coast and is performed in both English and Fanti.
